GANTRY SAWING TO COMPLETING CONTINUOUS CASTING LINE

Uzay Makina succesfully installed Ganrty Sawing Line to Turkey”s one of leading steel manufacturer. This company has invested for SMS Concast Switzerland to produce blooms at a diameter of 300 to 600 mm with a production capacity of 600,000 Tons per year.The product range of the client includes hot rolled, heat treated, alloyed, non-alloyed as well as high-alloyed steel products in round, square, hexagonal, flat shape as well as sections for grading buckets.

The client is the largest Turkish company for producing quality steel which owns the % 60 of Turkey’s total quality steel production and exporting approx. 40 percent of its products.

The company recently acquired sawing machine Uzay Makina UMSG 800 Dual Gantry Saw. This gantry bandsaw installed after, the SMS Concast Continuous casting line. The saw is for cutting off the head and butt ends and, if necessary, for cutting out defective sections.

This is complete sawing system with 2 sawing heads. These saw heads are moving along 20 metres table where the workpieces is fixed. Both saws can move individually on the table. The machine can cut rounds upto 800 mm. This is a very special and interesting machine designed for continuous casting line who manufactures solid bars. Programmable automatic feeding system lets the client to reach highest level productivity level.

Biggest advantage of the gantry saw is to make number of cuts with single material positioning and with optionally 90° rotating blade guides it will be possible to make cuts on different axis (horizontal/vertical).
